Graduating from the French Culinary Institute, now named the International Culinary Center, with a Grande Diplome in Classic Pastry Arts was a late-coming dream after years of working in the non-profit world planning conferences and fundraising events. I had always had a passion for trying new recipes and baking up goodies and when I finally thought of it as a career possibility I went for it. Taking the leap out of the office and into the kitchen has been a blast and I am loving my adventures in sugar!
Also a graduate of Hood College with a degree in Sociology with a concentration on Social Science Research I was the proud recipient of the 2012 Outstanding Recent Alumnai Award. Though I am not obviously using my degree in Sociology as a pastry chef and party planner, my experience at Hood has never left me. I gained an insight into the flexibility of an individual’s ideals. Taste buds are the same—fickle, influenced by others, and diverse.
As the former pastry chef at Spoon Catering and TBSP foodbar in Chelsea/Flatiron I enjoyed making a variety of treats from 2009-2015 including cakes, pies, ice creams, scones, cookies, brownies, pizza and savory doughs, granola, and canned jams and curds. Taking a pivot in a new direction in 2015 I joined Dine Market as an account manager helping restaurants and vendors connect meaningfully through an online ordering platform.
When not in the kitchen, you can find me hosting fundraising events for the Imperial Court of New York under the name of Princess Q.T. Pie!
